MST's pilot plant was specifically constructed for the consistent production of high quality polyphosphazenes. The production equipment was precisely designed for a versatile product stream, optimal quality control, and operational ease; all of which contribute to the commercial production of polyphosphazene derived products in addition to new product development.
MST’s major equipment consists of high temperature and pressure polymerization reactors for production and control of the long-chain chloropolymer backbone, an assemblage of reactors and treatment vessels for varying side-group additions to the chloropolymer backbone, and a high-performance devolatilizing extruder for superior gumstock production. The plant also boasts material recovery and pretreatment systems and high-precision instrumentation.
In addition, MST has a laboratory dedicated to R&D and scale-up activities, and one for material testing, which provides insight into the fundamentals of why materials behave differently and how these differences can be exploited to develop new applications.
